Yiwu International Trade City District 2: getting your goods out

Hardware and appliances make dense, heavy, well-defined loads, which is good news for freight if the handovers are documented. Here is the path from District 2 booths to a forwarder, and then to sea or rail.

Yiwu markets: Yiwu International Trade City District 2

From booth to collection point

Purchases leave the building through the market's collection pattern rather than from each booth. Goods from many stalls are gathered at a collection area, checked against lists and packed into one load for the forwarder.

Label every lot with booth number, item code and carton count at purchase, then weigh each sealed carton. Hardware loads hide short counts inside consistent-looking cartons, and a written weight per carton is the cheapest evidence you will ever produce.

Records that hold up

Photograph goods at three points: packed at the booth, sealed at the collection area and stacked before handover. For electrical and instrument items, add a photograph of the rating plate and the plug, since destination-market requirements are the most common reason for rejection.

Pre-shipment inspection on a recognised sampling plan is the norm for these categories; ISO 2859-1 is the standard most inspectors work to. Inspect before the load is sealed, while a defective carton can still be returned to its booth.

Forwarder, port and the rail option

From the collection area, a freight forwarder books the load as sea freight through Ningbo-Zhoushan or, on some corridors, onto the China-Europe freight trains operated under the Yixinou service. Dense cartons favour sea freight economics; the rail option is set by destination and urgency rather than by the district.

Hand over a packing list per supplier, because mixed loads are documented and cleared per lot. The core consolidation guide covers the documents that decide who gets paid; the market-specific part is the number of small lots this building produces.

What is specific to this district

Two features shape consolidation here. First, the trades are dense and heavy, so carton counts stay low while weights climb; plan pickup transport accordingly, and note that the building is designed so that vehicles can reach the trading floors for loading.

Second, the services sit close: the east annex holds logistics, banking, post and telecom alongside the business administration and tax offices, and floor 5 houses a foreign trade sourcing service centre. A load assembled here can go from booth to booked freight with very little distance in between.

Collection-point practices, service centres and carrier options change; confirm current arrangements with the market, your forwarder and the operator before shipping.
