Yiwu International Trade City District 2: how pricing works
Hardware, tools and appliances are priced by specification first and quantity second. In District 2 the quote you get is only as good as the specification you named, and this guide shows how to make quotes comparable.

The specification leads the price
In District 2 the specification leads the price. A lock quoted by material and shackle thickness, a tool quoted by the steel and the finish, an appliance quoted by voltage and plug type: each is a different product, and booths price them accordingly.
Name the specification before you ask the level, and hold one written spec while you walk the aisle. Buyers who let the booth choose the spec collect numbers that look comparable and are not.
Quantity bands still matter, and they stack on top of the specification. Ask at your real quantity in cartons, ask at the next band up, and ask where the band breaks; the three answers show how much of the quote is volume and how much is spec.
Packaging is part of the price
Packaging changes hardware quotes more than most buyers expect. Export cartons, inner boxes, instruction sheets in the destination language and blister cards are all priced items, and a booth that quotes without them is quoting a different product.
Agree packaging in the same sentence as the specification, and photograph the agreed packed unit. At the inspection stage, packaging is one of the cheapest things to check and one of the most common causes of complaint.
Why the same tool varies between booths
The same tool can carry different levels at neighbouring booths for ordinary reasons: one is the producer's own outlet, one buys from a workshop, one holds stock and one makes to order. District 2 was built to shorten that distance, with a factory direct-sales centre on floor 4, but the spread never disappears entirely.
Ask each booth whether it is the producing factory or a trader, and weight the answers accordingly. Neither is wrong, but the trader's margin buys assortment and service, and you should decide whether that is what you are paying for.
Terms, and re-checking the quote
Delivery terms decide what the level includes, so quote on a common basis before comparing. The ICC Incoterms 2020 rules set out the standard splits between seller and buyer, and two booths quoting on the same term can be compared line by line.
Re-check every quote when you place the order, and confirm the specification in writing against a held sample before any deposit moves. Our pages on minimum orders and payment terms cover the negotiation that follows the quote.
We do not publish verified per-stall pricing, and no level mentioned in this article is a quote. Negotiate on the floor and re-check quotes at each quantity break; specifications, certifications and delivery terms must be confirmed in writing with the supplier.
