Yiwu International Trade City District 3: how pricing works
A District 3 quote is a package of quantity, specification, packaging and delivery term. Take any one of those away and the number is meaningless, so this guide sets out how to collect quotes you can actually compare.

What a quote actually contains
Booth pricing in District 3 moves on quantity tiers. The same sunglasses, notebook or zipper carries a different unit price at a hundred pieces than at a thousand, and the stallholder will assume you know this. Always ask what quantity a quoted price assumes before writing it down.
Specification is the second variable. Material grade, finish, packaging and printed branding all move the price, and two stalls quoting one item can both be right if their specifications differ. Get the specification in writing next to the price.
Ask at three quantity points
Ask each shortlisted supplier for the unit price at three quantity levels, at one fixed specification, and record the answers in the same table. The shape of the curve tells you where the supplier really sits: a price that barely moves from small to large quantities suggests a trading desk buying from others, while a steep curve suggests production or direct stock.
Re-check quotes at every quantity break when you order. A tier that looked attractive during sampling can vanish at order time, and the only defence is a written quote per tier, confirmed before payment.
Why one item carries two prices
On floor 3, a zipper differs by tape material, slider quality and finish; on floor 1, eyewear differs by frame material, hinge and lens grade. None of this shows in a photograph, which is why identical-looking samples can sit a long way apart in price.
Relationship matters too. Repeat buyers are quoted against stock the stall already holds, while a first-time buyer asking for a changed specification is quoted against a production run. Neither is wrong, but they are different numbers for different purchases.
Quotes and delivery terms
A price is only complete with its delivery term: ex-warehouse, delivered to the consolidation warehouse, or loaded at port. The ICC Incoterms 2020 rules are the standard vocabulary for this, and using them avoids arguments about who pays for which leg.
For market goods the common question is whether the quoted price includes delivery to your forwarder. Ask directly, because carton delivery inside a market district is a real cost, and leaving it ambiguous invites a charge later.
Keeping quotes comparable
Write quotes in one ledger: item, specification, quantity tier, unit price, delivery term and date. A quote without a date ages badly, since material costs move and stalls re-price.
Confirm the final price in the purchase order, not in a chat message, and attach the approved sample reference. Our payment-terms guide covers how to align payment with what was agreed.
We do not publish verified per-stall pricing for District 3. Prices vary by specification, quantity and negotiation; re-check every quote at each quantity break.
